Call for Nominations: MSOM Distinguished Service Award 

 

Nomination Deadline: April 5, 2024 

 

The MSOM Society of INFORMS is now soliciting nominations for the 2024 MSOM Distinguished Service Award.  The award was created to recognize individuals whose distinguished service to MSOM has helped to advance the goals and objectives of the Society significantly.  It was approved by the Society membership at the Spring Business Meeting in 1996 in Atlanta and has been given annually since 1997.  Recipients of this award have provided exceptional leadership in the Society through multiple roles including, but not limited to, journal editorships, MSOM Society/SIG offices, and MSOM/SIG conference chairs. Nominations are to be submitted electronically to Nicholas Petruzzi (npetruzzi@wisc.edu) by April 5, 2024. 

 

To be eligible for the award, a nominee must be an MSOM Society memberGroups of individuals who have worked jointly on a common project are eligible if at least one of the individuals is an MSOM Society member.  Elected MSOM Society officers are not eligible for the award during their terms of office.   

 

Nominations may be made by anyone, including the nomineeNominations must consist of the following: 

 

  • A statement of major contributions (may be prepared by the nominee); and 

  • At least one letter of recommendation. 

 

An MSOM Distinguished Service Award Committee will select the recipient(s) of the award. 

 

Recipient(s) of the award will be announced at or before the next MSOM Business MeetingAward winners will receive a plaque (to be presented at the INFORMS 2024 MSOM Business Meeting) and a $1,000 honorarium (to be shared among multiple winners).
