The INFORMS student Chapter at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is a vibrant community of students, researchers, and professionals passionate about advancing the fields of operations research, analytics, and management sciences. Our chapter provides a platform for students to connect, collaborate, and grow academically and professionally. Our mission is to foster an environment that encourages learning, innovation, and collaboration. We aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice by promoting the application of advanced analytical methods to solve real-world problems. Through workshops, seminars, competitions, and networking events, we empower our members to excel in their academic and professional journeys.

What We Do
The UTA INFORMS Student Chapter organizes a variety of activities and events, including:

Events

INFORMS Annual Meeting – October 20-23, 2024
The INFORMS Annual Conference brought together scholars, practitioners, and industry professionals to share cutting-edge research and innovations in operations research and analytics. UTA students and faculty showcased their expertise through engaging presentations and poster sessions, highlighting the impactful work being done within our community. This event provided an excellent platform for networking, collaboration, and exchanging ideas on a global scale.

Ice-Breaking Event – September 12, 2024
As the fall semester began, the INFORMS Student Chapter at UTA organized an exciting ice-breaking event within the IMSE department. The event provided a welcoming platform for new Ph.D. students to introduce themselves and connect with their peers. Junior and senior students shared their experiences and reconnected in a relaxed, collegial atmosphere. The event set a positive tone for the academic year, fostering community and collaboration among attendees.
