Formerly known as the Early Career Teachers Network (ECTN), this pre-conference workshop has expanded to reach a broader community, including graduate students, early-career faculty, mid-career professionals, and senior professionals. This initiative reflects INFORMS' strategic focus on inclusive, lifelong learning and community-building within the analytics, operations research, and management science domains. Operationalizing this workshop meant creating two parallel tracks: one for early-career sessions and the other for mid-career sessions.
This workshop is designed to enhance teaching practices, support teaching-focused careers in data analytics, operations research, supply chain and management science, and foster meaningful mentorship and networking opportunities.
Participants will engage with a diverse set of speakers from academia, industry, and government through panels, discussions, and collaborative sessions. Topics might include:
-
Teaching-focused job market preparation
-
Writing impactful teaching statements
-
Course and curriculum design
-
Ethical use of AI in teaching
-
Belonging and inclusivity in the classroom
-
And more!
