2026 INFORMS CAI Awards

The INFORMS College on Artificial Intelligence (CAI) is pleased to invite nominations for three newly established awards recognizing outstanding achievement and leadership within the artificial intelligence and data science community.

INFORMS CAI Early Career Award

Recognizes outstanding accomplishment in research, teaching, and service by a scholar within the CAI community who is in the early stages of their career.

Eligibility: Candidates must be within the first seven years since receipt of their Ph.D. and/or commencement of their academic career. Eligibility may be extended if the candidate has been granted formal leave by their academic institution and the nomination provides evidence of such leave.

INFORMS CAI Mid-Career Award in Memory of Sriram Somanchi

Recognizes outstanding accomplishment in research, teaching, and service by a scholar within the CAI community who is in the middle stages of their career.

Eligibility: Candidates must be between seven and 20 years since receipt of their Ph.D. and/or commencement of their academic career.

INFORMS CAI Industry Leader Award

Recognizes outstanding leadership and accomplishment by a practitioner engaged with the CAI community.

Eligibility: Candidates must be practitioners advancing the development and use of artificial intelligence and data science practices in industry.

Submission Instructions

Nomination materials:

  • A nomination letter of no more than two pages describing the candidate’s accomplishments and characteristics relevant to the award
  • The candidate’s current curriculum vitae

Please submit all nomination materials by September 30, 2026 to informscai+awards@gmail.com. Please indicate the award name and nominee’s name in the submission.

We encourage members of the CAI community to nominate deserving colleagues whose accomplishments exemplify excellence in artificial intelligence and data science.
