    A postdoc position 

    Organization Description: the Transdisciplinary Research Institute for Advancing Data Science (TRIAD) integrates research and education in mathematical, statistical, and algorithmic foundations for data science. It was recently funded by the NSF and locates at Georgia Tech, with participating faculty members from the academic units including the school of the mathematics, the college of computing, the school of industrial and systems engineering, the school of electrical and computer engineering, and more.

    Position Description - Postdoctoral Associate: We are looking for a few postdoctoral associates whose research is inter-disciplinary and to build a foundation for the data science (which is broadly interpreted). The postdoctoral associates may work with multiple faculty members at Georgia Tech. The applicant will be expected to conduct fundamental and top-notched research. The normal duration of the postdoctoral associate is two year, with the possibility of extension for a third year.

    Position Qualifications: Qualified applicants should have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: any areas of mathematics, optimization, statistics, and theoretical computer science.  Additionally, domain knowledge of potential application of data science is a plus. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or other relevant field. Applicants are expected to be outstanding, intellectually curious researchers at an early stage of their scholarly career.

    Compensation Package:  The anticipated salary range for this position is around $60,000 per year commensurate with education, experience, and area(s) of demonstrated expertise.

    Applicants must provide

    (1) a cover letter no more than one page,

    (2) a curriculum vita including a list of publications,

    (3) A research statement (maximum 3 pages in A4 format) taking into account possible interactions with research groups/faculty within the different schools of Georgia Tech,

    (4) names and contact information for three potential references,

    (5) a copy of at least 1 research paper (can be unpublished) or a copy of your dissertation, and

    (6) unofficial transcripts of Ph.D. coursework.
