The Systems Assessment Group (SAG) of Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) has a post-doctoral researcher position open for a candidate with strong expertise and experience in optimization and/or statistics and their applications in transportation network modeling. A good understanding/background/skills of one or several of the following items is a big plus
Potential projects include, but are not limited to, developing models to identify the optimal locations for electric vehicle charging infrastructure or hydrogen filling stations under given conditions, the likely buildout of those locations into networks, and the effect of that buildout on market penetration.
Qualified individuals should have a Ph.D. degree in transportation, operations research, mechanical, environmental, power engineering, or a related field, and be familiar with energy and environmental impacts of transportation systems, modes and vehicle/fuel technologies. Good oral and written communication skills are also required. Start date is negotiable.
