This message is just to make you aware of a workshop taking place the day prior to the INFORMS Annual Meeting 2025 in Atlanta that will be made part of the formal program shortly. The workshop is targeted at authors who plan to submit empirically-based work to the INFORMS journals listed below in the near future and want to be prepared for new and evolving requirements regarding replication of empirical results. Registration will be through INFORMS and questions can be directed to me.
Workshop Title: Workshop on Replicability at INFORMS Pubs
Workshop Time: Saturday, October 26, 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
Workshop Description: This workshop will introduce authors to the current and developing standards for replicability of results at INFORMS journals. It is geared towards authors who expect to submit empirically-based work to the sponsoring INFORMS journals:
- INFORMS Journal on Computing
- Operations Research
- INFORMS Journal on Data Science
- Management Science
Agenda: We'll discuss the need for and the value proposition of doing replication studies, as well as introduce authors to the current procedures at the journals sponsoring the workshop. We'll review best practices for ensuring replicability and for submitting a replication package. The workshop will include time for open discussion with a panel of editors from the journals. Feedback will be sought from authors regarding reasonable standards/expectations.
