Thank you to everyone who participated in last week's INFORMS Book Club meeting. Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at noon ET. We need your help in choosing our next book. Please post your recommendations (fiction or non-fiction). Once we've received your suggestions, I'll send out a poll so you can vote. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Blackett's War by Budiansky https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/209799/blacketts-war-by-stephen-budiansky/

It's about the development of Operations Research during the war. They built a team across academic disciplines to apply their knowledge and use of scientific principles to help the British War effort. Its a lot more than just mathematics and probability theory as the blurb claims. Mathematics and probability is an important part but it shows a complete multi-discipline approach to solving problems.
