The US Department of Defense (DOD) is requesting input on how the department can help industry develop artificial intelligence (AI) for defense applications. The adoption of AI into defense systems is a major challenge for the defense industrial base, which needs to make significant investments in preparation for these changes. The public input will be used in the formulation of an AI roadmap for the defense industry, which will state defense policy priorities for AI incorporation within industry in the short and long term. The deadline for responses is July 22.
