    Seminar title:
    Digital Manufacturing and Service Enterprises

    Abstract:
Transformation of manufacturing and service enterprises offers opportunity to rethink the design of future industry. Major trends and problems facing digital industry are discussed. Though there is no global standard for representation of digital enterprise models in a cloud, the existing process modeling methodologies and languages may offer the solutions needed. Analysis of the cloud models for complexity reduction and interpretability is discussed. Insights into benefits provided by cloud platforms, including the ones designated for small manufacturing and service businesses, are offered. Digitization, greater openness, sustainability, and growing service orientation of industry are on a rise. Building digital models is elaborate and could be expensive. Insights into autonomous building of such models are provided. Applications of model-based system engineering in building enterprise models are presented. Future developments in digital industry are presented.
