SPA has an immediate need for a Senior Operations Research Analyst.who can work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of programs, perform all functional duties independently, and oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job. 

The successful candidate will be expected to provide advanced analytical support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), to apply rational, systematic, science-based techniques and critical thinking to help inform and improve the Department's decision-making abilities for the preparation, response and recovery to man-made and natural disasters and impacts on the Nation's critical infrastructure. The candidate will provide interdisciplinary analytical expertise and skills to support and conduct descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive projects.  The candidate will also participate in a wide range of optimization and related modeling activities, including, but not limited to, model implementation and operations, model use documentation, and optimization and operations research capability.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of full time professional experience
• Master's Degree
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Able to obtain a favorable DHS Suitability determination

Desired Qualifications: 

• Master's Degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, quantitative social sciences, or a related discipline
• Experience in any of the following programming languages: Python, R, MATLAB, Java, C++, VBA, SQL
• Experience developing compelling written and visual communications that are clear, concise, and suited to the audience.
