Dear community,
I am looking for a teacher who would like to collaborate on an international teaching project. My home institution, Tecnologico de Monterrey, has an innovative initiative called Global Classroom Learning whose goal is to pair a course from our institution with a similar one abroad. The goal is for our students to collaborate internationally and learn from other working cultures firsthand. The program consists of collaborating on 3 activities: an ice breaker (students criticizing data visualizations), a collaborative activity (students creating a poster to visualize data), and a reflection (students recording a video with what they learned). The plan would be for our students to work with each other through Zoom, Google Colab, and other applications. The software for data visualization and analysis can be R or Python.
My course is about data visualization, in which I teach 5th-semester industrial engineering students to create plots of numerical and categorical variables and create dashboards. Matching undergraduate courses include introductory statistics, basic statistics, data visualization, and introduction to Python. However, I am open to exploring other courses.
All students from both groups must collaborate. If we complete the program, our students will earn an electronic badge and we will get a certificate. I strongly believe this international project has the potential for a publication.
If you are interested in collaborating in the Fall 2025 semester, please send me an email to alanrvazquez@tec.mx
