    To whom it may concern.

I am a retired member of INFORMS.
I wish to inquire as to how to publish an article in an INFORMS journal.
    Happy New Year.

    Happy New Year, Cecilia!

The more concise answer, based on my experience, is:
    "only with extreme difficulty".

    The more helpful answer is:
"Identify an INFORMS journal with publication criteria - type and importance of application, level of modeling development, depth of mathematical analysis,
quality of data, rigor of empirical analysis, and managerial insights - that closely match your work. Make sure that your work is well motivated and, from some
perspective, important to a somewhat broad audience. If possible, ask for comments on your draft from someone who published recently in the same journal."

    Good luck!

    Best,

    Nick

I hope you find it helpful/

    Dear Professor Brandeau,
Having read your advice on how to publish in an INFORMS journal, here's how I finished up.
    1.  steer clear of INFORMS altogether;
    2. ask you if you wouldn't mind reading my manuscript before I take it somewhere else.
It may be your first painful bout for the year but I would most benefit by your advice.

    With kind regards,
    Cecilia Nembou

    Dear Professor Brandeau,
    Greetings from Papua New Guinea.
We last communicated a month ago and you indicated that you could take a quick look at my draft manuscript.
I have attached it to this email and I seek your kind consideration to critique it.
    In gratitude,
    Cecilia Nembou
