    Dear Colleagues:

The IEOM Society is pleased to announce that the National Science Foundation (NSF) will provide travel support for students to attend the Ninth North American International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. This event will take place in Washington, DC during June 4-6, 2024 at University of University of the District of Columbia, Washington, DC Campus, 4200 Connecticut Ave NW. The conference organizer is the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society International (IE0M Society International). The theme of the conference is "Fostering Sustainable and Resilient Manufacturing for Industry 4.0". Students will have an opportunity to learn from industry practitioners and academia. Participants will also learn from conference technical and keynote sessions related to Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), big data, iCloud, cybersecurity and related fields. Most important to students is the opportunity to gain a worldwide perspective from representatives from over 50 countries. The NSF award will also enable students to improve their knowledge of disruptive technologies of Industry 4.0. Conference participation will help students become engineers and researchers who will lead the United States into the next generation. As a result, they will be prepared to meet the challenges of smart disruptive technology.

Both graduate and undergraduate students can apply for the grant including community college students. Students from historically underrepresented communities including African Americans, Native Americans and Hispanics will receive preference. International students studying in the USA can apply for the travel grant.

The NSF award supports conference registration, shared lodging and a portion of the travel expenses of graduate and undergraduate students who should be enrolled full-time at a United States college or university. Each student may receive an award up to $600.
