Dear Ashley,
once again thank you very much for another important information and impulse, incentive and encouragement!
As a positive echo and for a sign of support, I may draw your attention to conference series which was initiated in 2024, just half a year ago, in beautiful Naples, Italy.
This conference and new conference series may be viewed in line with your message.
In fact, the first edition of the "Logistics and Lean, Engineering in Advanced Healthcare Methodologies Modeling" (LLEAHMM) conference was an event of excellence, dedicated to the application of logistics and lean production methodologies to the world of public and private healthcare, and celebrated with great success. It saw the participation of international experts and key figures in the areas of healthcare management and applied research.
The core of LLEAHMM 2024 included an in-depth study of lean production methodologies and logistics as key tools to improve resource management, reduce waste and optimize operational flows in both public and private healthcare facilities. Of course, emerging methods and tools of OR-MS and Analytics, including AI, are of central importance here.
LLEAHMM 2024 was also a time of meeting, sharing and inspiration, prepared to stimulate a real change in healthcare. The path undertaken is destined to leave a long-lasting mark on the global healthcare landscape.
LLEAHMM strives for long-term, fruitful cooperation with and in INFORMS, of course also in EURO, and in the entire OR community worldwide.
For further information, I refer you to the corresponding report by Giuseppe Converso and Mosè Gallo - the latter scholar is the initiator and mastermind of the conference series - in the next issue of IFORS News, which will appear at the beginning of March.
Thanks a lot to the INFORMS team for making this new discussion platform possible and hosted so kindly.
With best wishes,
kind regards,
Willi (Gerhard-Wilhelm Weber)
