    Dear Dr. Smith,
    Dear Ashley,

Thank you for introducing this valuable discussion stimulus.

In fact, "New Research Shows How Inclusive Workplaces Can Empower Black Employees to Thrive" contains an important finding that, in several ways, is at the heart of INFORMS and the entire OR-MS Community.

These ways apply on the one hand
    (a) in and of themselves, scientifically analytically, in fact, using OR analytics,
    and on the other hand
    (b) for the future of our companies and institutions, in which competitiveness, human-friendliness and justice can be combined for their own benefit and that of our whole peoples,
and among the companies and institutions
    (c) INFORMS and the other national OR societies in IFORS themselves.

At this point I would like to mention two research projects, both with the aim of helping companies or institutions and employees to better respect, recognize and use existing potentials:

    (i) Collaboration and coopetition between and within companies or departments within companies. This is where modern game theory, including its "fairness measures" comes into play. (I mentioned this here recently in a positive response to dear Dr. Jayant Singh.)

(ii) A project on scientific "aggregate production planning" (APP) with much greater involvement of human factors than has previously been the case in research.

Both (i) and (ii) are hosted at Poznan University of Technology, Faculty of Engineering Management, and can also learn from your post.
If you are interested in further information, I would be happy to give you contact details and put you and them in touch with each other.

    Thanks again,
also to the entire INFORMS team, which maintains this unique discussion forum.

    Best regards,
    best wishes,
    Willi (Gerhard-Wilhelm Weber)

    Hello Ashley,

Thanks for starting this discussion. I feel this article highlights a critical aspect of workplace culture-creating environments where employees feel empowered to be their authentic selves. The focus on reducing "social uncertainty" for Black employees is particularly impactful, as it addresses a common yet often overlooked challenge. I appreciate how the research ties inclusivity to tangible organizational benefits like stronger relationships and higher engagement, emphasizing that diversity is not just a moral imperative but a strategic advantage. The call to foster authenticity climates and practice perspective-taking is both actionable and inspiring, urging us all to build workplaces where everyone feels valued and supported. For additional insights, readers may find Harvard Business Review's articles on building inclusive workplaces and the Diversity and Inclusion Toolkit by SHRM valuable resources to further the discussion.

    Thanks,

    Gagan
