BALTIMORE, MD, May 4, 2023 – It is well understood that in the labor market there exists wage gaps between men and women, and in general, women had to fight to break the "glass ceiling" to get to upper management in the workplace. The causes of the gender gap could be multiple factors from discrimination to ability difference, and it is not easy to separate one from the other.

This is an important area.  Over 50 years I am always hesitant to about "classification of cognitive styles" by gender.  I have seen great diversity of styles across genders.

This is an interesting study within the video game environment.  It will be important to see how many of the conclusions can be replicated in which general business/societal settings.

In almost every culture, men just do not want to beat by a woman, especially in an area in which they have "dominated", whether it is video games, jobs (or education environment) in which men are the majority, or anything dealing with physical or athletic prowess.  As you can see from the paper, as long as men do not know the opponent is a women, they "behave".  And if women conceal their identity, they they do well and are more likely to continue playing.  These are things you can do in a video game.  It is hard to hide your gender when you are not hiding behind the internet, which is the real problem. In short, men need to change.  Unfortunately, this change is not going to happen anytime soon.
