Hello Everyone!
I'm Anjana Arunkumar, and I'm a Postdoctoral Researcher at Northeastern University in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences. I did my PhD at Arizona State University in Computer Science, with a focus on Data Visualization and its applications to Artificial Intelligence and Decision Science.
I design inclusive data visualizations that democratize how diverse audiences create and interpret information. My research examines how multicultural, linguistic, and cognitive factors shape engagement and decision-making with visual data. I also bridge visualization and AI by developing visual analysis platforms that make large language models more transparent and usable, empowering non-experts to explore, refine, and collaborate with AI through intuitive visual interfaces.
As a member of INFORMS, I'm eager to engage with a community advancing the intersection of data science, operations research, and artificial intelligence. My goal is to translate AI-driven visualization and decision-support methods into real-world applications that enhance how people reason about complex systems. I am currently on the academic job market, and look forward to connecting with researchers and practitioners who share these goals.
