INFORMS Open Forum

On October 17th, I attended the INFORMS Insights event, "Find Your Superpower: Unleash the Power of Analytics for Good." The session helped me reflect on the meaning I find in my roles, particularly as a data science enthusiast. I have always been excited by the potential of data to unlock insights. About four years ago, I worked on an NLP project that clustered unstructured text data using topic modeling algorithms like Doc2Vec and Word2Vec. These algorithms categorized text data, such as Google News feeds and Amazon reviews, into relevant categories like Technology, Fashion, Travel, Health and many more.

Now, I am eager to dive deeper into LLMs and work on a project that creates our own version of GPTs. After listening to Dr. Taylor's insights, I was inspired by how early-career professionals can significantly impact our professional growth.
