    Dear Friends and Colleagues,

    This is the 2nd call for participation for the Modeling and Optimization: Theory and Applications (MOPTA) 2023 Conference, which is organized by the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA.
    MOPTA 2023 will be held on August 16-18, 2023.


    Registration
    Registration for the conference is now open at https://coral.ise.lehigh.edu/~mopta/registrationfees.php
    All the conference fees cover breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks for each day of the conference, and also a cocktail reception and the conference banquet, which are scheduled for August 17, 2023. The conference fees for students/postdocs also cover the Student Social, which is scheduled for August 16, 2023.

    Contributed Talks, Invited Talks, Poster Presentations, and Organized Sessions
    Authors are allowed to submit more than one abstract and give more than one talk. MOPTA conference sessions consist of three 30-minute presentations, including Q&A. Attendees who wish to organize one or more sessions should ask each speaker to submit their abstracts as invited talks and inform Tommaso Giovannelli (tog220(at)lehigh(dot)edu) of the session title, the names of the speakers, and the titles of the talks in their sessions.

    15th AIMMS-MOPTA Optimization Modeling Competition
    The case study for the 15th AIMMS/MOPTA Optimization Modeling Competition has been posted (see https://coral.ise.lehigh.edu/~mopta/competition). The goal of this year's competition is to plan locations of electric vehicle charging stations under uncertainty.
    First Prize$1200 (+ full scholarship, not including travel, for the AIMMS Campus 2023 event).
    Second Prize$600 (+ half-price tickets to the AIMMS Campus 2023 event).
    Third Prize$300 (+ half-price tickets to the AIMMS Campus 2023 event).
    The scholarship and the half-price tickets to the AIMMS Campus 2023 event are only available to finalists that use AIMMS as the software platform for their submissions.
    Also, the 10 best teams that use AIMMS as the software platform for their submissions will be awarded $100 in prize money.
    Teams will be ranked by a panel of judges, including representatives from both the conference organizing committee and AIMMS.

    Important Dates
    - Abstract Deadline: Monday, May 29, 2023
    - Early Registration Deadline: Monday, June 12, 2023 (All speakers must register by this date)
    - Registration Deadline: Monday, August 7, 2023 (Only on-site registration is allowed after this date)
    - 15th AIMMS-MOPTA Competition Deadline: May 31, 2023, 23:59 Eastern Daylight Time
