The College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) seeks nominations and applications for the position of Head of the School of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM). The successful candidate must be qualified for an appointment as a tenured professor and hold an earned doctorate in industrial engineering or a closely related field. Candidates should have a distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and leadership; a strong record of externally funded research; interest in advancing education programs with a balance between undergraduate and graduate levels; demonstrated leadership experience and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; administrative and financial management abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and an unwavering drive for the success of students and faculty.

Established in 1925, the School of IEM is the third oldest IEM program in the world. The School is now home to 15 tenured/tenure-track (TT) faculty, 2 non-tenure track faculty, 4 staff members, about 150 undergraduates, and 120 graduate students. The School offers BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management, an online MS degree in Engineering and Technology Management (ETM), as well as graduate certificates in Supply Chain and Logistics and Engineering and Technology Management. The BS program has long been ABET accredited, most recently in 2022. IEM graduate programs are consistently ranked among the Top 25 by U.S. News among public universities in the industrial/manufacturing systems. The online MS ETM program is ranked #9 among public universities by U.S. News. The School Head is responsible for managing all aspects of the School and its programs, and serves on the College Executive Committee, working with the Dean and other School Heads to set strategic priorities for the entire College. The new IEM Head reports to the College Dean. The School home is 17,000 sq/ft of newly renovated offices, student lounges, classrooms, and meeting spaces. Additionally, the School is in the midst of a highly successful campaign to create large endowments to fund growth and new initiatives. The School has three endowed Chairs and one Professorship. Nine of the 15 TT faculty joined the School during the past eight years. The College is expanding its faculty by 30 new faculty lines in the coming 5 years, including areas in IEM that increase research and undergraduate and graduate enrollment. The School's faculty are a cohesive and collaborative group, committed to excellence in scholarship, instruction, and advising. Just in the past nine years, IEM faculty have received multiple competitive federal grants from NSF, NIH, DOE, AFOSR, and ONR (including three NSF CAREER grants). The School's faculty, staff, students, and alumni have won numerous national and international awards for innovation and leadership. Our graduates are highly sought after and recruited by top industries and graduate programs, and our doctoral students pursue successful careers in academia. The successful candidate will have significant resources available to move the School to the next level with the support of these outstanding faculty, staff, students, and alumni. The School's alumni are engaged through service on the Industrial Advisory Board and The Cowboy Academy. Visit http://iem.okstate.edu/ for more information about the School and its successes.
