Dear INFORMS members –
You may have heard of the INFORMS Advocacy and Governance Committee (AGC). We are a small group of INFORMS members who provide advice and guidance to the INFORMS Advocacy and Governance initiative.
Part of the work of the AGC is to share opportunities for INFORMS members to engage with federal agencies. These will include announcements such as:
- Requests for Information (RFIs) from agencies, which are open calls for input and could lead to further interaction with the agencies.
- Calls for nominations to advisory committees and other calls for subject matter expertise
These announcements may come from any public agency, including research-focused agencies like NSF and NIH, as well as agencies who could benefit from INFORMS expertise such as DoD, Health and Human Services, Environmental Protection, Interior (Forest Service, USGS, NOAA), Transportation, and any others who have needs related to operations research and analytics.
I will post these announcements here in the Open Forum community, so that everyone has access to them. I will also post them in our targeted AGC community called "INFORMS Advocacy & Government Opportunities & Information." Please join that community if you are interested in receiving these announcements directly, and in being able to search through previous announcements for a specific topic or a specific agency.
We request that if you do respond to a request for information or submit a nomination in response to a call posted in that Connect community, please consider noting that you are an INFORMS member as part of your response, to increase awareness of what INFORMS can offer. Please also consider dropping a response under the INFORMS Advocacy and Government Opportunities and Information community via connect so that we can assess the impact these offerings are having for INFORMS members, and begin to target our announcements toward those that are of most interest to INFORMS members.
