All excellent articles that stress the need to prepare ahead. I am reminded of an early example that Gary Sullivan offered about pre-emergence management in 1977. If I have gasoline on the floor and light match in my hand, the entire situation is easily solved by blowing out the match. Once the match drops a gargantuan effort is needed.
The challenge is recognizing the need to blow out the match - putting the fire out is obvious.

Likewise, INFORMS President Laura Albert was feature in the Chicago Tribune with a travel editorial that was picked up by the Orlando Sentinel among nearly a dozen other outlets.
