The INFORMS Analytics Society is gearing up for another exciting year - and we're looking for passionate leaders who want to help shape the future of analytics! 🧠✨ Whether you thrive on building community, advancing the practice of AI and decision science, supporting students and early-career talent, or creating meaningful professional connections, this is your chance to make a real impact. Serving in Society leadership is a rewarding way to give back, grow your network, and influence the direction of our field… all while having fun with fellow analytics enthusiasts along the way!
We seeking nominations for Vice President (VP) and Secretary. These roles are central to our community's momentum-connecting members, advancing programs, and ensuring continuity. If you're passionate about analytics in practice and eager to serve, we want to hear from you.
Open Roles, Responsibilities & Time Commitments
1) Vice President (three-year commitment)

Term sequence: 1 year as Vice President → 1 year as President → 1 year as Past President.

Key responsibilities as VP (Year 1):
-
Serve as principal deputy to the President; act on behalf of the President when needed.

Lead planning for the year you will serve as President (programs, budget draft, priorities).

Coordinate selected initiatives (e.g., webinars, partnerships, member engagement).
-
Support awards, elections, and society communications as needed.

As President (Year 2): Chair the Executive Committee, set the annual agenda, represent the Society at INFORMS events, and ensure delivery of programs.
-
As Past President (Year 3): Advise leadership, support continuity, and assist with nominations/elections.
Estimated time: ~3–5 hrs/month as VP; ~5–8 hrs/month as President (seasonal peaks around conferences/elections); ~2–3 hrs/month as Past President.
2) Secretary (two-year term; staggered with Treasurer elections for continuity)

Key responsibilities:

Maintain official records (meeting agendas, minutes, decisions).

Coordinate announcements and Connect posts with the Executive Committee.

Track action items, key dates (awards, elections, sessions), and documentation in the Society library.

Support election administration and bylaw/Policy updates in coordination with INFORMS staff.
Estimated time: ~2–4 hrs/month (seasonal peaks around Annual Meeting/election windows).
Eligibility Requirements
To serve as an officer, candidates must:

Be current INFORMS members and current members of the INFORMS Analytics Society in good standing for the full duration of service.

Uphold INFORMS Code of Conduct & Ethics and Society bylaws/policies.

Be able to attend monthly Executive Committee calls and support key deadlines (e.g., Annual Meeting programming, awards, election windows).
-
Disclose and manage any potential conflicts of interest related to sponsorships, awards, or elections.
