01 About the Forum
To further promote academic exchange and collaboration among outstanding young scholars worldwide, attract and nurture top-tier talent, and propel the university's academic growth and development, the School of Data Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, will host the "Global Young Scholars Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science" from January 6-8, 2025.
We extend a warm invitation to aspiring young academics worldwide to join us in this exciting intellectual endeavor and become part of a community that values innovation, creativity, and the pursuit of knowledge. This forum is also an essential part of our Global Young Talent Recruitment initiative.
02 Application Requirements
1. Have obtained (or will obtain within a year) a Ph.D. degree from a globally reputable university
2. Have made significant achievements in the research fields of operations research, statistics, and computer science, particularly in the following research directions: operations management, decision analytics, machine learning, applied probability, mathematical statistics, biostatistics, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, speech recognition, computer vision/graphics, robotics and embodied intelligence, information engineering, software engineering, computer security, operating systems and high-performance computing.
03 Forum Schedule and Registration
This forum will be held in mixed mode, onsite and online, with the following specific arrangements.
Deadline for registration: November 30, 2024
Invited guests will be notified from December 16 to 18, 2024
The forum will be held from January 6 to 8, 2025
Language: English
Venue: At The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen & via Zoom
Participation support:
Applicants can choose to attend either online or onsite. The School of Data Science will provide assistance with round-trip travel expenses, accommodation, and meals for invited young scholars who are attending in person. Details on reimbursement will be included with the invitation letter.

05 School Profile
The School of Data Science (SDS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, was established in July 2020.
The SDS focuses on first-class teaching and academic research in data science. It has established a systematic education system in data science, including theoretical aspects such as operations research, statistics, computer science, and application fields such as machine learning, operations management, and decision analytics, providing students with comprehensive and state-of-the-art training. With the aim "to nurture high-end talent with a global perspective, Chinese tradition, and social responsibility," the school is organically integrating industry, education, and research, determined to become the world's leading data science innovation and research base, as well as cultivating top innovative talents with a global perspective.
The SDS is established on a solid foundation with talented faculty members. All SDS faculty members have doctoral degrees from world-class universities. Many also have experience working in top-tier universities worldwide and have had significant international impacts in academia and industry.
