Who's your favorite mascot? It could be for a sports team, a product, a restaurant chain... For me, it would have to be Poe, the Baltimore Ravens mascot. I love the Ravens and I love Edgar Allan Poe.

I'm originally from Pennsylvania and spent several years in Philadelphia, so I have to go with the Phillie Phanatic. As confusing as a bipedal flightless green bird might be, it is a beloved staple of the city :D

Since I'm a graduate of The University of Alabama, it has to be Big Al. He is FAR superior to the mascot that belongs to the rival school in the state (and shall remain nameless). Roll Tide!!

My favorite mascot is still the Princeton Tiger.  I was a fan of the Tigers all through my youth. This website tells you a bit about its history as the mascot. Princeton was one of the first schools to play football in the 1890s.

I especially liked the fourth point on the website, which I did not know; I was very glad Princeton went coed.

"* There are many tigers to be found in the architecture around campus, all of them presumably male. In 1969, the year coeducation was introduced, Bruce Moore's bronze tigers for the Adams Mall between Whig and Clio were created male and female."

Excellent choice! The Princeton Tiger (not to be confused with those Johnny-come-lately knock-offs at Auburn, LSU, etc.) was my second choice. For my first choice, I have to go with Sparty, one of the most recognizable mascots around (and, apparently, one of the most educated: https://broad.msu.edu/news/sparty-enrolls-broad-college/).

BTW, as a member of the first coed class admitted to Princeton, trust me when a say that the bronze tigers were the least of the adaptations required.
