    We are pleased to announce the finalists of the 2023 MSOM Student Paper Competition, who have been selected out of a very strong pool of submissions. We would like to thank all the judges who carefully reviewed the submissions.

    The finalists in alphabetical order are as follows:

    1.     Tobias Lieberum (Technical University Munich) for "Should We All Work in Sprints? How Agile Project Management Improves Performance."

    2.     Zhikun Lu (Emory University) for "Sooner or Later? Promising Delivery Speed in Online Retail." 

    3.     Alp Sungu (LBS) for "Food Subsidies at the Base-of-the-Pyramid: Take-up, Substitution Effects and Nutrition."

    4.     Leann Thayaparan (MIT) for "UMOTEM: Upper Bounding Method for Optimizing over Tree Ensemble Models and its Applications."

    5.     Cagin  Uru (Duke University) for "Sequential Search with Acquisition Uncertainty."

    6.     Zhiyu  Zeng (Tsinghua University) for "The Impact of Social Nudges on User-Generated Content for Social Network Platforms."

    We would like to thank all the students who submitted their work and congratulate the six finalists!

    The finalists will present their work during two special sessions at the INFORMS Annual Meeting, SA24 and SB24, both on Sunday, October 15th. The winners will be announced and awarded at the MSOM business meeting at INFORMS.
