  • 1.  Daryl Daley 1939 - 2023

    I just learned that one of the giants in Applied Probability, Daryl Daley, recently passed away.  

    He wrote the definitive Point Processes book with D. Vere-Jones, many applied probability papers (and a number with me despite us living 10K miles apart).   He was a scholar and a friend and a great loss to our community.

    Daryl was a true scholar, extremely generous with younger researchers, and a fine colleague.
