The rise of Generative AI (Gen AI) like OpenAI's GPT-4, Google's Bard, and Anthropic's Claude, capable of writing code from simple prompts, sparks a debate: Is traditional coding facing obsolescence? If AI can turn a basic description into functional code, what does this mean for skilled coders? Could a future where interacting with an AI model replaces the detailed work of a Data Scientist or a Software Engineer be imminent?

Yet, coding is more than just syntax-it's about solving problems and optimizing solutions. These are areas where even advanced AI falls short compared to human intuition and creativity. The 'code' generated by AI is only as good as the training it receives, and errors, especially in complex scenarios, are not rare.

On the other hand, the collaboration between AI and coders could open doors to new programming horizons, automating routine tasks and freeing up developers for more innovative work.

While Gen AI could make coding more efficient, the expertise of a Data Scientist or a Software Engineer seems irreplaceable for now. So, will coding evolve, or is it on the path to becoming obsolete?
