The Management Science and Information Systems (MSIS) Department in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applications for multiple open rank tenure-track positions slated to begin in Fall, 2023. Departmental faculty are in both Stillwater and Tulsa and typically teach classes in both locations.

OSU's MSIS Department has a unique blend of faculty, students, and staff, delivering innovative academic programs at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral level, producing impactful and high-quality research, and providing outstanding service to the profession, the university, the college and the community. Faculty have published some of the top-cited research papers in decision support systems and business intelligence/data analytics history and continue this publishing excellence today. The Department also partners with OSU's Center for Health Sciences and the Center of Health Systems Innovation in delivering graduate programs and certificates, and conducting applied research, in health informatics and health care analytics. The Department is also a national leader in Information Assurance (IA), having been previously designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in IA Education (CAE/IAE) and Research (CAE-R) by the NSA and the Department of Homeland Security.

We envision hiring at least one open rank faculty member to support our newly created Center for Predictive Medicine. A senior hire may be appointed as the Director of this center. In addition, we plan to hire additional faculty members (junior as well as senior ranks) with research interests in data sciences/data engineering. We also envision appointing one or more non-tenure-track research professors (Post-docs) in health analytics with support from George Kaiser Family Foundation.  Thus, a cluster of faculty members will be hired to support our growing prominence in analytics/data science in general and health analytics in particular.  Finally, the department also has approval to consider other IS faculty members with broader IS research interests. Competitive senior candidates will be eligible to be appointed as Spears Professor or Spears Endowed Chairs.
