Dear Colleagues,
We are organizing sessions for the "Global Optimization", "Integer and Combinatorial Optimization", and "Network Optimization" clusters at the 2025 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia (October 26-29, 2025).
If you are interested in chairing a session or giving a talk in one of these clusters, please enter your details in the appropriate tab at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/6vh93f8b
As you may know, the INFORMS Strategic Planning Committee has allocated a limited number of sessions to each INFORMS community due to space constraints, evolving career services, and the goal of optimizing session quality and attendance. As a result, the Global Optimization, Integer and Combinatorial Optimization, and Network Optimization clusters have approximately 19 sessions combined.
Given this limitation, not all proposed sessions may be accepted into the program. Once sessions are proposed, we will select them based on several factors, including breadth of topics, institutional representation, and session chair seniority.
Key Points to Note:
- New Job Market Showcase Track: INFORMS has introduced a new Job Market Showcase track for the 2025 meeting. Details can be found here.
- One-Talk-Per-Speaker Rule: We have a one-talk-per-speaker rule for the Annual Meeting. This means speakers in the Job Market Showcase track cannot give a talk in a regular session.
- Session Chair Deadline: April 15, 2025. Please indicate your interest in chairing a session by this deadline. We encourage early proposals and will try to accommodate late proposals if space allows. If you have arranged for speakers in your session, please ensure they enter their talk details in the "Talks" tab at the link above. Once they have done so, kindly indicate in both tabs that their talk is part of your session.
- Session Size Requirement: Each session must include five speakers. Sessions with four or fewer talks may not be selected.
- Talk Proposal Deadline: May 7, 2025. Please indicate your interest in giving an invited talk by this deadline. After this deadline, session chairs will be asked to form their sessions from the list of proposed talks.
- Abstract Submission Deadline: May 23, 2025. Selected speakers must submit their title and abstract in the system by this deadline.
We understand that these changes may require adjustments, and we truly appreciate your cooperation. Please feel free to reach out with any questions:
- Global Optimization: Rohit Kannan (rohitkannan@vt.edu)
- Integer and Combinatorial Optimization: Aleksandr Kazachkov (akazachkov@ufl.edu)
- Network Optimization: Jim Ostrowski (jostrows@utk.edu)
Best regards,
Aleks, Jim, and Rohit
