Dear Colleagues,
The Military and Security Society (MAS) of INFORMS is seeking nominations for Session Chairs on OR/MS/Analytics topics related to the military and security areas as part of the Military and Security Cluster at the 2023 INFORMS Annual Meeting taking place from 15-18 October 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona.
The goals of the INFORMS-MAS are to:
- Promote the development and application of OR/MS/Analytics methods, techniques, and tools to the solution of problems in the military and security areas.
- Encourage the exchange of information among practitioners and users in the military and security areas.
- Encourage more interest by practitioners and students in the military and security areas.
- Promote the maintenance of high professional standards in the application of OR/MS/Analytics methods to the military and security areas.
If you are interested in organizing and chairing a session of four to five related theme talks within the MAS Cluster, please contact the MAS Cluster Co-Chairs, Nate Bastian (nathaniel.bastian@fulbrightmail.org) and Marc Chalé (marcchale@gmail.com), by 10 March 2023. Please be sure to provide a suggested session title. Session proposals will be reviewed/approved on a rolling basis, and proposals are also welcome for sessions jointly sponsored with other INFORMS community groups.
All Session Chairs should have speaker information entered by May 2, 2023, with initial drafts of the speaker abstracts for each talk due by May 16th. Please note that editing of abstracts will be able to continue within the portal until August 1st.
We are looking forward to hearing about all of the great contributions our members and non-members are making to the military and security OR/MS/Analytics communities, and we are extremely appreciative of the volunteers who help ensure the success of the MAS Cluster sessions during this great event. It should be noted that the MAS Cluster at the 2022 INFORMS Annual Meeting was the largest and best attended in recent history. Thank you to those who chaired sessions and those who presented their research!
