    The flagship INFORMS journal Management Science is seeking a new editor-in-chief from January 1, 2024. The search committee seeks outstanding candidates who reflect the diversity of interests and perspectives of the communities served by INFORMS and Management Science. All members of INFORMS are invited to participate in this process.

    Nominations can be very brief – just a name and a sentence or two about why you feel the person would make a good editor-in-chief. Self-nominations are welcome.

    Desirable qualities for a nominee include:

    • a demonstrated record of scholarship in management science or a closely related field;
    • a broad editorial perspective encompassing relevant advances in business and engineering;
    • a deep, long-standing connection to the INFORMS community;
    • a passion to innovate and inspire change;
    • a vision and plan for enhancing the reputation and stature of Management Science in a way that:
      • increases the journal's impact, as measured by impact factor, downloads, and other metrics;
      • is inclusive, serving the entire INFORMS community and other related communities; and
      • incorporates the latest advances in managerial thinking and practice, as advanced by INFORMS members;
    • significant editorial experience;
    • a clear understanding of and vision for the role of Management Science in the electronic and open-access age;
    • commitment to the workload involved; and
    • ability to manage the editorial process fairly, effectively, and efficiently.

    Further information about the journal is available at the Management Science website: https://pubsonline.informs.org/journal/mnsc.

    Members of the search committee are Linda Argote, Carnegie Mellon University; Dorit Hochbaum, University of California, Berkeley; Jayashankar Swaminathan, University of North Carolina; Serguei Netessine (liaison with INFORMS Publications Committee), University of Pennsylvania; and Wally Hopp (chair), University of Michigan.

    Please send your nominations, opinions, and comments to Wally, chair of the Management Science Editorial Search Committee, at whopp@umich.edu.  Self-nominations are welcome.  Please include your name and affiliation in your communications with committee members.

    To receive full consideration, nominations should be received by June 5, 2023.
