    The Applied Probability Society of INFORMS invites nominations for its 2025 Best Publication Award. This award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to applied probability, consists of a plaque and $1000. It will be presented at the INFORMS Annual Meeting, Atlanta, Georgia (Oct 26-29, 2025).

    The contribution (a book, paper, or pair of papers) must meet the following criteria to be eligible.

    • The contribution must be in the area of applied probability;
    • It must be written in English or have an accurate English translation available;
    • At least one author of the contribution (in the case of a pair of papers, at least one of the two) must be a member of the Applied Probability Society;
    • It must have appeared (in the case of a pair, at least one of the two) in the open peer-reviewed literature with an official publication date within the interval of January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2024.

    The contribution will be judged according to the extent to which it advances the state of the art, the theoretical or methodological originality, the depth and significance, the areas of application that it opens, and the clarity of the exposition.  Past award winners can be found here: https://connect.informs.org/aps/apsawards/bestpub-past.

    Nominations may be made by anyone, including the nominee. A nomination package consists of

    • A description of the contribution and its significance;
    • A copy of the nominated publication(s).

    The nominator should send the package to Neil Walton, neil.walton@durham.ac.uk.

    Nominations must be submitted before 11:59pm EST on May 1, 2025.
