Dear all,
The QSR Council is coordinating the significant activities of our section within and outside the INFORMS conference to serve all QSR members better. With the support of many of you, the QSR Council manages several subcommittees, including the academic subcommittee, industrial relations and membership growth subcommittee, public communication subcommittee, and fundraising subcommittee. The QSR officers lead the subcommittee activities to promote the broad participation of members, research collaboration, and member services.
The QSR officer elections are coming up now. All QSR members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to serve our community and develop their visibility through the service. Participating in a leadership role is a challenging yet rewarding experience. According to the QSR By-Laws, the following nominating committee has been formed:
· Dr. Yisha Xiang (QSR Chair in 2023-2024), yxiang4@central.uh.edu, Nominating Committee Chair
· Dr. Hongyue Sun (QSR Chair in 2024-2025), hongyuesun@uga.edu
· Dr. Hao Yan (QSR Chair-Elect in 2024-2025), haoyan@asu.edu
On behalf of the nominating committee, we would like to call for nominations from all QSR members. This year, we have the following officer positions open to QSR members:
· QSR Chair-Elect,
· Secretary/Treasurer, and
· Three Council Members.
Both nominators and candidates must be members of INFORMS and the QSR Section. If you or any QSR members you know are interested in running for the available positions, please have one of the nominators email the nominations to all nominating committee members by August 29, 2025. Please note that one person can be nominated for multiple positions. Additionally, please note that the current QSR executive officers and council members, listed at https://connect.informs.org/qsr/officers, cannot be nominated for the same positions. In the nomination email, please indicate the name, e-mail address, and the expected position(s) of the candidate. Self-nominations are also warmly welcomed.
Please note that, according to the QSR by-laws, the nomination for any position must be endorsed by at least six QSR members. This applies to self-nominated candidates.
The nominated candidate should directly send the following information to all nominating committee members by 5 PM (EST), August 29, 2025, including
· Contact information
· An election statement (e.g., the vision and the plan to serve QSR members if elected, etc.) with previous service efforts for the QSR Section (e.g., volunteers, QSR session organized, paper presented in the QSR Section, review efforts for QSR rewards, etc.), and
· A short bio.
Submissions received after the deadline will be automatically disqualified from the candidacy.
After the information about the candidates has been collected, the QSR members are eligible to vote in the election. The link for the vote will be provided in a follow-up email after September 5, 2025. Each QSR member can vote for multiple candidates but can only vote once. Non-QSR members cannot vote until they join QSR as a member. The candidates are encouraged to promote themselves and attract non-QSR members to join the QSR Section before their votes.
Thank you for your participation.
Sincerely,
Yisha Xiang, Ph.D.
On behalf of the QSR Nominating Committee 2025
