Dear Colleagues,

This is a call for intent to host the MSOM Conference in 2025. By the MSOM society's tradition, the 2025 MSOM Conference will be held in an "international" location (i.e., not in North America).  So, schools outside of North America are encouraged to consider hosting the conference in 2025.

Before laying out the next steps for 2025, we wish to remind everyone of the next two MSOM conferences: June 24-26, 2023 in Montreal / McGill U. (https://www.mcgill.ca/msom2023/) and June 30 – July 2, 2024 in Minneapolis / U. of Minnesota.  We are grateful to both teams of colleagues for their service to our community by hosting these two conferences.

If you and your colleagues are interested in hosting the 2025 MSOM Conference, please send an email of intent to the MSOM board at aydin@psu.edu by March 15, 2023.  Your intent is not a commitment but rather a starting point for discussion.  We will coach your team on the items that need to be addressed for a full proposal, which will be due by April 15, 2023.  Please find attached the society guidelines in the form of a list of factors to consider.

For schools that are interested in hosting but concerned about space availability for hundreds of attendees, off-campus venues can be considered.  Moreover, schools can consider collaborating with other schools in their vicinity to organize the conference jointly.

A gentle reminder for those of you who have a non-zero intention to host the next international MSOM conference in June-July of 2025.  The (soft) deadline for communicating your intent is this Wednesday, March 15.  You would then think about putting together a proposal within a month.  Please see my earlier post for details.  Cheers,  -Aydin
