Dear INFORMS community,
I am very pleased to announce the finalists of the 2025 George B. Dantzig Dissertation Award. This award recognizes doctoral research that combines methodological innovation with practical relevance. The finalists for this year are (in alphabetical order):
· Bo Lin (University of Toronto) – Analytics for Better Urban Cycling
· Zhi Liu (Cornell University) – Understanding and Optimizing Societal Systems: Methods and Applications
· Aras Selvi (Imperial College London) – Models and Algorithms for Safeguarded Data-Driven Decision Making
· Zikai Xiong (MIT) – New Theory and New Practical Methods for Solving Large-Scale Linear and Conic Optimization
Each of these dissertations exemplify modern operations research, advancing both methodology and practice. I would also like to recognize the fantastic committee of scholars that adjudicated this year's competition:

All finalists will present their work in a dedicated session at INFORMS on Sunday, October 26, 8:00–9:15 AM, Bldg A Lvl 3 A301. The winner will be announced at the INFORMS reception on Sunday evening.
