    Analytics Poster Conference Poll

We have noted a decrease in poster submission quantity for the Analytics conference over the past several years. We would like to be able to have a wide variety of topics, presenters, and organizations (practitioners and universities) represented.

To that end, we'd like some feedback on the following areas of the process. Replies can be sent to this thread or directly to the session chairs (Alan Taber (alan.taber@lmco.com) and Matthew Lanham (lanhamm@purdue.edu))

    1) Are you aware of the opportunity to present a poster at the Analytics Conference?
    2) Do you want to present a poster?
If you do want to present, what is your main obstacle?
        • Client unwilling to have results presented due to proprietary nature.
        • Cost of attendance.
        • Other
    3) If you do not want to present, why not?
        • Not worth the time to get through the process.
        • Conference not worth the cost of attendance.
        • Posters not seen as sufficiently prestigious compared to talks
        • Other
      4) Is there anything in the submission process currently that is making it hard to submit posters?
          • Submission tool
          • Deadlines (too early / too late)
          • Need to know sooner than process allows to get funding to attend
          • Other
      5) Do cash awards for best poster change your views on creating and presenting a poster?
      6) Anything else you'd like to share about the submission process and/or the presentation process that you think would improve them.

We will gather and tabulate results by the end of October to be able to get initial changes into the poster submission process for the 2023 Analytics Conference.

      Sincerely,

      Alan Taber & Matthew Lanham
