    Dear colleagues,

We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the IMSI workshop Advances in Quantitative Medical Care, to be held February 2–6, 2026 at IMSI (Institute for Mathematical and Statistical Innovation) at the University of Chicago.

This workshop builds on IMSI's Spring 2023 long-term program on Mathematics, Statistics, and Innovation in Medical and Health Care and will bring together researchers at the forefront of quantitative approaches to healthcare. The program will highlight how synergies across operations research, statistics, computer science, medicine, and health policy can transform healthcare delivery.
    Key themes include:
    • AI-driven diagnostics and prevention: early detection for cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and more.

    • Precision and personalized medicine: tailoring treatments to individual responses and dynamic preferences under uncertainty.

    • Digital health and operations: telemedicine, remote care, secure data handling, and new models for hospital and emergency room efficiency.

    • Health policy and funding: frameworks that can support a rapidly evolving healthcare ecosystem.

The workshop will feature ~18 speakers across disciplines, with a special emphasis on junior researchers and underrepresented groups, alongside dedicated discussion sessions and panels to encourage collaboration. Registered participants will also be able to sign up for a limited number of lightning talk slots

Some limited funding will be available for participants to partially cover travel costs.

    Registration Site: IMSI Website

We hope you will join us for this unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare through quantitative innovation.
