Good evening,
I wanted to share the following information from AAAS about an important upcoming webinar on Monday, June 16th about federal STEMM funding and the budget process.
Best regards,
Jeff

Dear AAAS colleagues,
The Administration's proposed FY26 budget includes deep cuts to science funding, including a 56% cut to NSF, 43% to NIH, 24% to NASA, and 54% to the EPA. With the U.S. House of Representatives already beginning appropriations markups, now is the time for the science community to be informed about what's at stake and take action when Congress is in recess.
Join us on Monday, June 16 at 2 p.m. ET for a focused briefing from science policy experts in the AAAS Office of Government Relations. We invite everyone-AAAS Members, advocates, and supporters alike-to join us and feel empowered around STEMM funding. Together, we can voice the importance of sustained STEMM funding remaining a priority for Congress in the months ahead.
REGISTER NOW
By joining, you'll get:
- A clear breakdown of what's in the FY26 budget and what it means for science.
- An overview of the budget process and where we are now from AAAS experts.
- Insight into the political landscape shaping federal funding decisions.
- Tools to help you effectively share your story with Congress during the August recess and other opportunities to help you advocate for science in your community.
While the Administration's proposed cuts to science are deeply concerning, Congress still has the power to protect science funding, and we all have a role to play in making that happen.
Please invite your colleagues and networks to join next week's webinar. We hope to see you on Monday, June 16.
Thank you,
AAAS Office of Government Relations
