Good evening,
I'm passing along information (below) from AAAS regarding an upcoming webinar on engaging with policymakers at the local level.
In addition to the AAAS webinar, please be sure to look at the INFORMS Advocacy Toolkit which provides a wide range of information and guidance for engaging with both policymakers and the media.
As always, please feel free to let me know if you have any questions, or if you would like more information on how to work with INFORMS' advocacy efforts.
Best regards,
Jeff Cohen
"Bridging Relationships with Policymakers"
Wednesday, June 25 from 2 - 3 p.m. ET
RSVP HERE
This is the first in a series of online skill-building workshops designed to help you apply scientific information effectively at the local level. Opening comments will be provided by Deputy Director of Federal Affairs Sean Gallagher from the AAAS Office of Government Relations. Then, Dr. Rachel Owen will share insights on why building trusted, long-term relationships with policymakers is essential for impactful science engagement. She will explore the research behind why relationships matter in science policy, discuss the opportunities during the upcoming August recess, and share practical strategies for initiating and sustaining meaningful connections with policymakers at federal, state, and local levels.
Open to all STEMM professionals, this interactive event is a great opportunity to enhance your skills, expand your network, and empower your continued efforts to serve your community through scientific engagement.
