    Dear colleagues,

This is a reminder that the 2026 Early-Career Sustainable Operations Workshop will be held from February 27 (Friday) to March 1 (Sunday), 2026, at the Naveen Jindal School of Management of the University of Texas at Dallas (800 W. Campbell Rd, Richardson, TX 75080).

The program will follow a format similar to the past years, with a dinner reception to be held Friday night (2/27), followed by a full day of presentations and panels Saturday (2/28), and then a half-day of presentations on Sunday (3/1).

We are inviting junior academics (untenured faculty) and PhD students who are interested in presenting to submit either:

a working paper (formatted per M&SOM journal) to be considered for a full presentation (30 minutes) followed by a discussant, or

a one-page abstract on an exploratory topic to be considered for a flash talk (10 minutes)

to SustainableOM2026@gmail.com by November 14, 2025. Notice of acceptances will be sent by December 12, 2025. Flash talks are ideal for individuals who are looking for early feedback or potential collaborators for their work.

We are also inviting senior academics (tenured faculty) to serve as discussants on the accepted papers.  Discussants will be given a full-length paper which was accepted for presentation to the workshop by February 5, 2026 and asked to prepare short presentation with the aim of giving constructive feedback to the authors. If you would like to take on this important role, please email SustainableOM2026@gmail.com by January 23, 2026.

The registration fee for non-students is $100 until February 17, 2026 and $150 thereafter.  Ph.D. students attend for free but everyone must register for the workshop at http://om.utdallas.edu/SustainableOperations2026.

This workshop is generously supported by the Naveen Jindal School of Management of the University of Texas at Dallas and by the Anderson Center at Georgia Tech.  The program committee includes Dorothee Honhon and Shouqiang Wang from UTD and David Drake and Gloria Urrea from the University of Colorado.   We are also grateful for guidance from the steering committee, which includes Priyank Arora (USC), David Drake (UC Boulder), and Beril Toktay (Georgia Tech).

For more information or questions, please email Dorothee Honhon at dorothee.honhon@utdallas.edu  and/or Shouqiang Wang at Shouqiang.Wang@utdallas.edu.

We look forward to welcoming you all in Dallas!

Dorothee, Qiang, David and Gloria (Program Committee).
