    Dear Colleagues,

We are organizing the cluster of sessions for Global Optimization for the INFORMS Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, IN (note the typo in the subject line - my apologies), which is being held October 16-19, 2022.  For more information, visit the conference website.  We are interested in all applications, theories, or computational work in the area of Global Optimization and Mixed-integer Nonlinear Optimization.  Chairing a session is a great way to serve the community, discuss research problems with people sharing common interests, and meet those working in similar fields.  It is also a great opportunity for early-career folk, including students, to get involved.

Whether you are available for chairing a session or not, we would appreciate your help forwarding this opportunity to other interested individuals or suggesting names whom we should specifically invite to chair a session.

For your planning purposes, here are the 2022 INFORMS Annual Meeting deadlines:

    • April 11: Deadline for chairing a session
    • May 2: Deadline for session chairs to invite presenters
    • May 16: Deadline for presenters to submit abstracts

If you are interested in chairing a session, please send an email to emily.speakman@ucdenver.edu with a tentative session title, ideally, by the end of the day on April 11 although we will do what we can to accommodate late submissions.

Note that the rules for sessions have changed for this year's annual meeting, in particular:

      1. Each session chair should invite 4 speakers with regular talk and 1 with flash talk.
      2. The "one-talk-per-speaker" policy is still in place. That is, each speaker can present only one regular talk or one flash talk.

If you do not want to chair a session, but you are interested in giving a talk in this cluster, please also send an email to emily.speakman@ucdenver.edu with a tentative talk title and a short abstract.  If at all possible, we will group together like talks.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, I am looking forward to your contributions!

      All the best,

      Emily Speakman
