    Dear colleagues,


    As you might be aware, I am currently serving as the Vice Chair (Chair-Elect) of the Data Mining section and as of this year's Informs, I will be the Chair who is in charge of determining the workshop organizers for Informs 2018.

     

    Next year (2018) Informs Data Mining Section will be holding its 13th Data Mining & Decision Analytics Workshop. If you are interested in serving as one of the workshop organizers, please send me your letter of intent (just one page please) indicating your interest. In your letter, please let me know why you are interested in organizing this workshop, how you think you'd be a good fit to conduct this task, what you think is needed to improve this workshop compared to the previous workshops, what other leadership roles you'd taken so far in your areas of research, what other Informs sections/societies you'd collaborate to organize this workshop if you plan to do so. Any other information that you believe would increase your chance to be selected as one of the organizers are also welcome given that you do not exceed one page limit of write-up.

     

    Please send your letters directly to me at Asil_Oztekin@uml.edu no later than October 13, Friday so that I have enough time to learn about you. Also, please join the Informs Data Mining Section Annual Business Meeting on October 23, Monday to talk to me in further detail about your interest to pursue in this.
