    University of Missouri – Industrial & Manufacturing Systems – PhD Positions – Fall 2022

    The Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering department at the University of Missouri is seeking applicants for several fully funded Ph.D. student positions for Fall 2022. The application system is open from now until March 1, 2022.

    Admission into the Mizzou Ph.D. program is highly competitive. Preference is for candidates with master's degrees, however outstanding candidates directly from a bachelor's degree will be considered. Candidates need top academic credentials and evidence of research experience and/or potential. Admitted full-time Ph.D. students are fully funded based on the two following programs:

    GAANN Fellowship

    • Stipend for five years of $34,500 each year (dependent on demonstrated financial need)
    • Tuition and fee waivers each year
    • Additional funding for conference participation and research expenses
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident

    Dean's Scholar Program

    • Guaranteed stipend for four years of $30,000 each year, with potential for extension.
    • Tuition and fee waivers each year
    • No citizenship restrictions.

      • Applied Operations Research; Data Analytics
      • Emerging Transportation Logistics
      • Healthcare Systems
      • Human-Computer Interaction
      • Quality & Reliability Engineering
      • Supply Chain / Material Flow Systems
    1.  Mizzou IMSE's world-class interdisciplinary faculty members work closely with Ph.D. students. Mizzou IMSE faculty are prolific scholars, routinely publishing in journals such as: Applied Ergonomics, Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics,  Benchmarking, Energy Economics, IEEE Trans on Network Science and Engr, IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering, Intl J of Medical Informatics, Intl J of Production Economics, Intl J of Production Research, Intl J of Operational Research, Journal of Healthcare Engineering, Journal of Quality Technology, Simulation, Social Science and Medicine, Transportation Research – Parts C and E.
