    Workshop announcement – Data-driven queueing challenges September 21-23, 2021

The increasing availability of empirical data in the operation of large computer networks and in the management of human service systems is creating new opportunities for study in queueing theory. To respond to this opportunity, ACEMS and NETWORKS are co-sponsoring an on-line workshop on `Data-driven queueing challenges' in September, in association with The Alan Turing Institute.

The workshop aims to bring together researchers with backgrounds in statistics, stochastic modelling, data science and control to highlight and discuss research directions in modelling, monitoring and controlling queues, and in dealing with parameter uncertainty, when there is access to operational data.

The program contains 16 speakers and 2 panel discussions and registration is now open at: https://www.ddqc.io/ . The website will be updated as more details are confirmed.

Workshop sessions span international time zones so that parts of the workshop will be scheduled at times convenient to audiences in Europe, North America and Oceania. Subject to speakers' permissions, talks will be recorded so that participants who are not able to attend live can catch up later.
