IEOM Society has become a premier international platform and forum for academics, researchers, scientists and practitioners to exchange ideas and provide insights into the latest developments and advancements in the fields of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. After having successfully organised previous international conferences in Bangladesh (2010), Malaysia (2011), Turkey (2012), Indonesia (2014), UAE (2015), US (2015; 2016) and Malaysia (2016), the IEOM Society is now jointly organising with the University of Derby and the University of the West of England an International Symposium on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. The event will be held at the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK on July 24-25, 2017.

    Keynote Speakers:

    • Jiju Antony, Professor of Quality Management, Department of Business Management, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

The first IEOM UK International Symposium on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management aims at providing a platform for academics, researchers, scientists and practitioners to exchange ideas to bridge the gap between the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management theory and its application to solve the most current problems and challenges faced by 21st century organisations. Hence, the conference is also expected to foster networking, collaboration and a joint effort among the conference participants to advance the theory and practice as well as to identify major trends in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. The main focus of the symposium is to explore how the fields of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management may contribute in addressing one of the main challenges that mankind is currently facing; how to achieve sustainable economic and social growth while at the same time reducing environmental degradation, climate change and resources scarcity. The main theme of the symposium is therefore “The Challenge of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in Building Sustainable Manufacturing and Service Systems”. The first IEOM UK International Symposium on Industrial Engineering and Operations will hence promote knowledge and experience sharing between Industrial Engineering and Operations Management experts to address this challenge.
