    Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management

     

    The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) seeks an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) of Healthcare Management, with a primary appointment in the Department of Management in the Alvarez College of Business (ACoB) and a secondary appointment in a department in the College for Health, Community and Policy (HCaP). UTSA is an R1, urban-serving, Hispanic thriving discovery enterprise deeply committed to student success and academic excellence including growing doctoral education. The position will begin in Fall 2023, pending budget review. Review of applications will begin October 24, 2022 and continue until the position is filled.

     

    Required qualifications: 

    1. an earned doctorate in Healthcare Management, Health Economics, Health Administration, Health/Healthcare Analytics, or related field (ABD with anticipated graduation of August 2023 will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who have already finished their degrees);
    2. demonstration of ability to teach in the areas related to health administration/management and support newly developed bachelor's and master's programs in Health Administration;
    3. demonstration of a promising research agenda and the ability to publish in top-tier journals
    4. demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity to include the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse urban populations and support the University's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success.
    5. demonstrated ability to work collegially with faculty, students and community members from diverse cultural backgrounds.

     

    Preferred qualifications:

    1. expertise in healthcare administration and program management
    2. experience with education and research of culturally diverse and underserved populations;
    3. experience teaching courses in healthcare administration and public health;
    4. ability to collaborate with current faculty and form new transdisciplinary teams;

    Compensation will be commensurate with applicant qualifications.
