    Dear colleagues,

    We would like to invite you to organize sponsored sessions / contribute an invited talk under the mining and petrochemicals cluster at the 2020 INFORMS Annual Meeting (which is held at National Harbor, MD November 8-11th).  All kinds of research works (theoretical and applied) are eligible; however, the talks should lie within the context of oil/gas/mining.

    As stated in INFORMS Section on Energy, Natural Resources, and the Environment (ENRE), the mining and petrochemicals cluster seeks

    • promoting the development and application of operations research/management science/machine learning methods, techniques, and tools to the solution of problems relating to mining and petrochemicals;
    • encouraging the exchange of information among practitioners and users in mining and petrochemicals applications areas; and
    • promoting the maintenance of high professional standards in the application of operations research/management science/machine learning to problem areas in mining and petrochemicals.

    If you would like to organize a session under this cluster, please contact us by providing a tentative title for the session, so that we can have you listed within INFORMS system (Oasis) to serve as a session chair. Please be informed that the minimum number of speakers per session is 4, while sessions having 5 speakers are highly encouraged.

    Also, if you solely would like to contribute a talk, please contact us by providing a tentative topic, so that we can connect you with an appropriate session chair.

    The upcoming deadlines are:

    • March 18: Deadline for Session Chair identification
    • May 1: Deadline for Session Chairs to enter presenters
    • May 15: Deadline for presenters to submit abstracts

     Although the deadline for session chair identification is March 18th, we highly appreciate receiving information about your tentative title for your session as early as possible. Finally, please feel free to spread the words by passing along this information to your colleagues.  We are looking forward to seeing you in National Harbor!

    All the best,

    Cluster Co-Chairs:
