    The Auburn University Industrial and Systems Engineering Department seeks to fill up to two (2) faculty positions at the Assistant and/or Associate Professor level.  Successful candidates should be able to teach classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the areas of systems engineering, advanced manufacturing and simulation.  Specific areas of research interest include (1) application of systems engineering in the design and development of complex systems to include requirements development and analysis and system architecture and modeling, (2) manufacturing system design and development including the machine to machine networking and data collection, industrial internet of things, Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0, (3) simulation development, application and analysis of complex systems with emphasis on random processes, model building and construction of computer simulation models, (4) large scale optimization, and (5) data analytics.

    The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong extramurally-funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, contribute to mentoring students, and will participate in outreach and provide service to the department, college, and university.  The successful candidate is expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, technology, and leadership to the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  

    Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, or a related field, from an ABET accredited institution. A commensurate record of successful academic activities, including funded research, teaching and scholarly publications, will be required for applicants at the associate professor level. The intended start date is August 16th, 2018.  The review of applications will begin on December 1st, 2017 but applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
